Mother Blessing

A mother blessing is a sacred, nurturing ceremony to honour, cherish and support the mother-to-be and to give blessings for her birth and her transition into motherhood. The mother invites her chosen friends and family to participate, the other mothers share their wisdom and everyone sets intentions and offers support to empower the mother-to-be with confidence, strength and love.

The ceremony has no strict order and is tailored to the individual's desires and wishes. 

 

The Mother Blessing Ceremony takes around 2-3 hours depending on how many guests you bring and what you would like to include, the main aspects are:

Cleansing the space, creating a circle of women by calling in our ancestors and the elements, various activities that can include:

brushing the mother's hair, making a flower crown, a foot soak and foot massage with aromatherapy oils and setting intentions/wishes to support the mother-to-be. A red thread is sometimes wound around each person's wrist and tied to symbolically bind everyone together. Other possibilities include belly painting, making a necklace, readings/poetry/singing or whatever suits the mothers interests.

Guests bring nourishing food to share at the end of the ceremony.

 

The price reflects the time taken, so it depends on how many people are invited and how many activities are included.

 

A 2-3 hour ceremony costs between £200- £280
