Independent Midwife postnatal visits or packages available.

An Independent Midwife is available to visit you at home after the birth of your baby. Whether you have had a homebirth or hospital birth, a vaginal birth or a caesarean birth.

 

Each appointment focuses on your physical and emotional recovery, your baby’s wellbeing, and supporting you to grow in confidence as new parents.

 

You Independent midwife will be available for :

 

  • Baby's day-5 blood spot screening can be carried out

  • Baby Jaundice check (Bilirubin levels)

  • Baby weigh-ins

  • Baby's general health check in and explaining normal baby behaviour.

 

  • Mothers perineal check

  • Mother's suture check

  • Monitoring blood loss and blood pressure, and ensuring recovery is progressing well.

  • Breast or bottle Feeding support

Direct phone access to your midwife throughout your care for reassurance, continuity, and advice when needed.

Flexible Bespoke Packages can be tailored to your needs, as every family’s needs are unique.

Independent midwives in Womb and Bloom group

We can support you in finding an Independent Midwife who is the right fit for your journey. Simply provide your estimated due date and postcode, and we will connect you with Independent Midwives who are currently available in your area.

You will then have the opportunity to speak directly with them to decide who best aligns with your needs, values, and preferences for care.

There is no fee for this service. Instead, our collective makes a voluntary contribution to our access fund, helping us continue to expand support and improve accessibility for families within our community.

Emily is an Independent midwife with over 13 years of clinical work and teaching experience within both the NHS and Private maternity services, supporting people through their pregnancies and birthing journeys.
Emily is a mother to four beautiful young children, which gives me firsthand experience of the challenges and joys of parenthood. She is passionate about helping expectant and new parents feel confident and informed throughout their journeys, by providing expert guidance, reassurance and support at every step of the way.

Amanda has been a midwife for 30 years, supporting countless families through pregnancy, birth, and those early days. Amanda's job is to hold a safe space for you, your partner, and your family to figure out your way of doing things. She'll listen, guide, and support you without judgment, helping you trust your instincts and feel confident in your own rhythms. Amanda won’t make you feel rushed, ticked off a checklist, or squeezed into a one-size-fits-all plan. You’ll get time, understanding, and care that fits you.​​​

Independent midwife 2027

Victoria commenced her journey into the maternity sphere after the birth of her daughter in 2009. Her journey of fertility struggles, loss and parenthood transformed her. She trained and worked as a birth doula since 2015, but began a midwifery degree in 2023. Victoria is the founder of the Womb and Bloom platform and has made it her driving passion to support birth workers, women and families as they step into motherhood and parenthood. She will be mentored by the wonderful, experienced IMs in the group as she steps into her new role as a newly qualified Independent midwife in 2027.

Independent midwife​

 

Tina is an experienced Independent midwife with over 20 years of experience working with women and families. Tina was the founder of Neighbourhood midwives in early 2013 and now specialises in the antenatal and postnatal period in pregnancy and after birth.
