Postnatal appointments in your home

Independent Midwife postnatal visits or packages available.

An Independent Midwife is available to visit you at home after the birth of your baby.

​They are available to discuss anything, concerns, questions or listen to as you debrief your birth experience or signpost you. Your IM will be available for weigh-ins, ensuring recovery is progressing well and baby health check-ins. Your IM can provide regular home visits during the first days after discharge provide reassurance, guidance, and practical support during the transition into parenthood.

 

Each appointment focuses on your physical and emotional recovery, your baby’s wellbeing, and supporting you to grow in confidence as new parents.

 

You Independent midwife will be available for :

 

Baby's day-5 blood spot screening can be carried ou

Baby Jaundice check (Bilirubin levels)

Baby weigh in's

Baby's general health check in and explaining normal baby behaviour.

 

Mothers perineal check

Mother's suture check

Monitoring blood loss and blood pressure, and ensuring recovery is progressing well.

Breast or bottle Feeding support

If required, newborn examinations and the day-5 blood spot screening can be carried out, alongside ongoing assessments at each visit.

Direct phone access to your midwife throughout your care for reassurance, continuity, and advice when needed.

Flexible Bespoke Packages can be tailored to your needs as every family’s needs are unique.

Independent midwives in Womb and Bloom group

We can support you in finding an Independent Midwife who is the right fit for your journey. Simply provide your estimated due date and postcode, and we will connect you with Independent Midwives who are currently available in your area.

You will then have the opportunity to speak directly with them to decide who best aligns with your needs, values, and preferences for care.

There is no fee for this service. Instead, our collective makes a voluntary contribution to our access fund, helping us continue to expand support and improve accessibility for families within our community.

Emily is an Independent midwife with over 13 years of clinical work and teaching experience within both the NHS and Private maternity services. I love what I do, and supporting people through their pregnancies and birthing journeys brings me so much joy and happiness!
I am also a mother to four beautiful (but very noisy) young children, which gives me firsthand experience of the challenges and joys of parenthood. I am passionate about helping expectant and new parents feel confident and informed throughout their journeys, by providing expert guidance, reassurance and support at every step of the way.
