Hello, I'm Emma!

I am a private midwife and founder of Guided By You Midwifery. My journey into midwifery began with a truly positive birth experience during my third pregnancy. The care I received from one incredible midwife left a lasting impact and inspired me to pursue this path myself. At 46, as a single mother of four, I completed my midwifery degree with First-Class Honours and began a career that has become my life’s passion. Since qualifying in 2014, I’ve supported families across a wide range of settings — from high-risk hospital units to calm, empowering home births — always with compassion, respect, and the belief that care should be centred around you.

I bring over a decade of experience in both NHS and private settings, and I have a particular passion for supporting home births, including those after caesarean or outside of standard guidelines. I’m confident, calm under pressure, and always led by evidence and empathy. Whether you’re looking for support through feeding challenges, birth planning, or simply someone to listen without judgement — I’m here for it all.
