I am mother to 5 amazing children who are aged 17, 16, 13, 7 and 6. Each of my birth experiences and feeding journeys have been very different and shaped my career as a Lactation consultant.

 

Having had my first baby at 20 years old, half way through my degree, I suffered terribly postnatally after feeling out of control in a complicated delivery. This really was the start of my passion around supporting new parents in early motherhood and infant feeding.

After university, I started my career in Digital Media- working as a project manager for a start up company. The hours were long and unpredictable. It didn’t gel with the life I wanted for my family.

Another traumatic delivery ensued with my second baby but a healing third birth with my third. I was confidently able to breastfeed and sort the support of my local breastfeeding network and a lactation consultant. This was transformational for me so I endeavoured to find a way to give back. Whilst on maternity leave, I started an admin role within the Breastfeeding Network. I was thrilled! 

I trained as a helper and volunteered. I realised this is what I wanted to do with my life- help people. I have a huge passion to ensure families are empowered and supported.

Since working tirelessly within the NHS and BFN, I have had two more babies but now actively splitting my time between private and NHS work.

So here I am, all of me, passionately supporting new mothers and parents since 2015 as they start their journey to feeding their baby.
