Birth & postnatal doula
Sue is a birth & postnatal doula with 18 years of experience empowering and nurturing mothers and their families. In 2020, Sue took the IndieBirth course "Doula training and Transformation. "It taught me a lot [even after years of supporting births] as well as reinforcing my core values, my strong belief in continuity of care & my innate trust in birth." Please note, Sue is now mainly supporting home births.
Breastfeeding/feeding support
After volunteering at postnatal drop-in groups & hospital wards for a couple of years as a Breastfeeding Network [BFN] peer supporter, Sue decided to further her knowledge by gaining a Breastfeeding London Diploma in 2020 and also became a BFN Supporter in 2025. Sue is passionate about supporting mothers and birthing people to have a positive breastfeeding journey and is now offering 1-1 breastfeeding support. Please note, Sue is not an IBCLC. For complex feeding issues, she will refer clients to a lactation consultant.
Maternity Massage
Sue's massage treatments are a blend of holistic oil-based massage & Shiatsu techniques. They are specially designed to support you through the physical and emotional demands of pregnancy and into the postnatal period. The massage works on releasing muscular tension, stretching tight muscle fibres, stimulating blood and lymphatic circulation whilst calming the nervous system, which aids mental as well as physical relaxation. Appropriate shiatsu points and meridians are worked with in the treatment for energy balance and specific conditions. Most pregnant women will experience some discomfort and tension during their pregnancy as their bodies adapt to accommodate their growing baby. Massage can often ease backache, nausea, headaches, oedema and other pregnancy-related strains and stresses. It can help to prepare the body for childbirth by releasing physical and emotional tension and working shiatsu/acupressure points can help to prepare the body for labour.
Ceremonies
Sue also offers Mother Blessing & postnatal Closing ceremonies, rituals to celebrate your transition to motherhood and honouring your physical, spiritual and emotional journey of bringing new life into the world & aiding your postnatal recovery.
Sue works from her home in Islington N5. More information on her training and experience here
